New Delhi, April 23, 2004: Mrs. Rathi Vinay Jha, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism launched the new facilities and courses of The Bird Education Society for Travel and Tourism (BESTT) today at an official ceremony in its state-of-the-art premises in central New Delhi. The society has conceptualised versatile programs and activities to cater to the long-term human resource requirements of the travel and tourism industry in diversified fields.
Bird Education Society for Travel and Tourism is designed on a pattern to help young entrants in not only specialising in chosen areas of the industry but also in acquiring a comprehensive knowledge of all segments of civil aviation, hospitality, surface transport, Cargo handling and tourism, offering them a distinct advantage of integrating this knowledge and their subsequent experience towards cost effective and successful planning marketing and administrative sections in the times to come.
Elaborating on this new venture, Radha Bhatia, Chairperson, Bird Education Society of Travel and Tourism said , “The institute will cater courses from Travel & Tourism to Cargo Sales to Foreign Languages to Information & Technology, thus educating students taking a holistic picture of the industry rather than imparting knowledge in just one field. Through various affiliations with organisations such as Amadeus, IATA/UFTAA, Max Mueller, Mundus, Jasc Software, Delhi Tourism & Transport Development Corporation in collaboration with Amadeus India, YMCA and College of Vocational Studies Delhi, BESTT aims to provide a gamut of courses.
